What is a Hobo?

What is a Hobo?
Most people believe he or she is a bum. That would be incorrect. A bum is someone who doesn't want to work, they bum money on the streets. A hobo on the other hand is someone who does work, be it as a bartender, waiter, waitress, lifeguard, mate on a boat, cook, bottle washer, etc. you get the point. He's someone that jumps from job to job.where ever his heart desires to wander. I've spoken to quite a bit of hobos down in Key West and the Caribbean, their stories are different but they're the same. I don't want hobos to be offended, because most people only wish they had your Lifestyle. Hobo Up!

Aeromarine Airways or Pan Am Airlines

Little do people realize that Aeromarine Airways was the first international Airways in the country, seven years before Pan Am. They flew their first flight out of Key West to Havana , Cuba in 1920. Now, they might not have had a scheduled flight, but they were the first. Check out this web site if your interested in Aeromarine Airways.

http://www.aeromarineairways.com/ it's a great site. Hobo UP!

My favorite Mexican beers.

Well, I'll probably hear allot of different opinions about this, but here it goes. I like three Mexican beers, and not necessarily in this order, it depends on my mood. Sol is a nice light beer without that nasty after taste . I know allot of people like Corona, but if there's a choice, I'm drinking a Sol { that means sun in Spanish, in case you didn't know}. Sol is not as popular as Corona, because of Corona's marketing campaign, { Great marketing though, I love their commercials.} It's not as easily available as Corona, I've asked some bartenders in the Keys and the Caribbean for a Sol and they looked at me as if were speaking in a foreign tongue { to some of them, I guess I was}.

My next one, Modelo. A great dark beer. Most people wouldn't associate this beer as Mexican, it's heavier than most. The biggest complaint of this beer, if you want call it a complaint, is the gold foil around the cap part, pain in the neck, but worth the small inconvenience.

Third but not least is, Dos XX, amber or the lager. I prefer the amber but the lager has a great taste too. This beer was first brewed by a German brew master. It does have that German taste. So if you like German Beer I think you'll like this one. Please, if your going to drink any of these beers, make sure they're out of a bottle, not a can.

7 mile bridge on the way to the Mother Land

We flew into Fort Lauderdale and cruised down A1A as much as we could, we stayed off the interstate. One of the towns we drove through, because we heard so much about it was South Beach. If your a Buffett fan, keep driven, that's all I have to say about it. Jumped on the interstate and onto Hi-way one, towards the Keys. There's just something that intrigues me about those little islands in southern Florida, and it's not just one thing. To me it's easy living, I know that may sound crazy but that's the first thing that comes to my mind. You don't need as much material things to make you happy, and I believe the Keys hold that key{ no pun intended}.

I think if your going to Key West, you have to do a road trip, that's one of the great parts of the trip. Some people may say, they would rather fly into Key West, the ride is so boring. Well those people are boring people, they have no sense of adventure. Travel off the beaten path and discover a new you along the way, no matter what continent your on. The seven mile bridge is unbelievable, now you'll get some people that will say, I didn't think it was that great! Those are the same people that wanted to fly into Key West in the first place! Leave them home the next time. Could you imagine the men that built that bridge, what a great feat. I'll leave you here at the bridge, so you can admire there workmanship. Hobo Up!

Hey Hobos.... It's been to long in not writing in our blog. We're going to try a little harder, it's been difficult, we have been very busy running our site, but that's no excuse. My business partner and I were down in the Florida Keys, and of course Key West to do a little business. Hopefully we will have our shirts in a couple of the nice t-shirt shops that are down there. If you've never been down in Key West, let me give you my take of it. I've been down there quite a bit, my wife and daughter have come with me. It's a place that either you love it or you hate it, there is no middle ground, my wife and daughter hate it. Allot of people go down expecting to lay around on the beach, go to any other Caribbean island if that's what you want. What I like about Key West is because of it's history. I'm a Hemingway fan, the original Caribbean Hobo, the man that started it all along with Jack London. They wrote when they needed money and traveled around the globe {what a life}. Key West has allot of great bars and restaurants. Well that's my short take on Key West, I'll write about it some more as the weeks go by. By the way if you didn't guess who that was in front of Hemingways house, it's me, Jim. Hobo Up!
